This remodel focuses on bringing a spa feeling to the home. We achieved this by using the POJJO Vanity Valet Secret to create space to efficiently store and use all hair appliances. This system allows the client to heat and cool down their flat irons and curling irons inside unused space...without sacrificing any cabinet room. www.pojjo.com

I tell my husband almost everyday how much I love my new kitchen - which he "built" for me! I had the typical 60's or 70's kitchen which only had enough space for one cook and where you felt isolated from the rest of the home. We demolished a cinder block wall that kept me divided and lonely from the dining/living area and created this fabulous Great Room. Now, when we have gatherings, everyone always sits around the huge island in the center. Couldn't be more thrilled!!!!!

Over the last year, I transformed a strip of grass and a narrow pathway in the front of my house into a beautiful courtyard with a bronze gate, tiled patios an outdoor fireplace and a Koi pond. No I don't do this for a living, but I am open to any job opportunities. HGTV are you listening?.

We started by painting the walls. After 3 attempts at trying to find the right color we finally settled on Benjamin Moore-Kingsport Gray. We moved on to painting the cabinets black and changing out the hardware with pulls we bought from Ebay Store "Hinges and More". We retrofit the kitchen sink cabinet to fit a new farmhouse sink. We added under cabinet and overhead lighting. We hired a fabricator to install the Giallo Beach granite we picked out for the countertop and the Bedrosian Ice Crackle MGICG2 Mosaic Glass tile backsplash. I ordered the island/table from the IKEA - Udden Console. By removing the backsplash on the console I was able to repurpose, what is meant to be a cabinet base, for additional workspace and seating.

Glass tiles Vessel sink Tub Surround. Entire project was DIY. I tried to achieve the spa/hotel look and feel.WOW. Thank you everyone for all of your kind responses and feedback!!!The sink is made by a company named Suneli and I bought it from a local bathroom design store. The glass tiles go all the way to the floor and behind the toilet. I haven't had any problems with water splashing everywhere with this vessel. Thanks again to everyone on the RMS community.
***I found the glass tile from a local Classified ad here in Los Angeles. It seems to be different shades of olive green, sage, and tan.

Goodbye 1982! Just finished updating our old, drab master bath. It's now small, but elegant! No structural/space changes, but everything else is all new. The toilet/shower room are separated from the vanity area by a pocket door. (pictures are a little out of order, couldn't figure out how to move them around. The vanity is custom made, the tiles are Turkish Walnut travertine, the glass mosaic tile accents are from American Olean.

Before and After photos of our Ensuite Bath. This old and dingy space was remodeled from the ground up. The picture doesn't show it, but there was a rough 2x10 over the vanity that had a fluorescent light fixture. It was a very depressing room with cheap tile in the shower over a yellowing acrylic shower pan and a cheap door.
The new spa-like bath features a floating glass vanity with an opaque vessel sink and a framed mirror above. We built a custom shower with river pebble floor and travertine walls. A strip of pebble accent runs in the length of the bath floor and up on the wall in the shower. A rain showerhead and frameless glass door completes the shower which also features a recessed panel for bottles.
The bathroom has a door to a small balcony which used to be solid but by replacing it with an opaque glass french door it lets plenty natural light in the room but keeping it private.

The 1980's tract home bathroom was gutted and completely made into a spa-like retreat. Replacing the GIANT jacuzzi tub with a more usable comfortable soaking tub made room for an amazing spa shower with body sprays, steam unit, rain head and bench. The vanity was custom built with drawers that organize make-up and jewelry to alleviate counter-top clutter. There is plenty of counter space and a single wider sink was installed. Brushed nickel hardware was used throughout including the 2 chandeliers and the wall scones. White Carrera Marble was used in and out of the shower in different forms including tumbled mosaics on the floor which is very comfortable on the feet.

Our master bath was stuck in the 80's with tarnished brass fixtures and plain old ceramic tile. Small triangle shaped shower in the corner. Out dated vanity with full wall mirror that has seen better days. We removed the ceramic trim around the garden tub and replaced with walnut wood. Removed the old vanity top and replaced with walnut and added two vessel sinks. All the walnut was finished in "Waterlox" to fully protect the wood from any moisture problems. Relocated the commode so that we could have a large walk-in shower. Installed travertine stone around the vanity, garden tub, and walls and floor in the shower. Made a custom corner shower caddy from solid teak finished in "Waterlox" We are really enjoying the fruits of our labor and the 6 months of hard work on nights and weekends are well worth it!!

After 20 years it was time to give our Massachusetts colonial house the kitchen it deserved! I checked out many designers but decided that I knew what I wanted and could do it myself. With the help of Crown Point Custom Cabinets and various other craftsman I pulled together the kitchen my family needed. Turning a cramped dysfunctional kitchen into my vision required a 225 sq ft addition off the back of the house. What a difference a few feet makes! Tying the addition into the colonial was interesting but we did it with a few hours of help from a good architect!
