  • Farmhouse Hall Bathroom, We bought an old farmhouse with 5 bedrooms and 1 bathroom upstairs, and decided to turn one of the small bedrooms into a hall bath with a laundry area attached.
Jerusalem gold tumbled marble 12x12 floor tiles set on the diagonal, oil-rubbed bronze wall mounted fixtures, rustic stacked stone, and dark mahogany cabinetry combined gave me the modern Italian/Spanish vibe I was going for. I fell in love with the rustic mosaic stone and created a back splash behind the vessel sinks. Custom vanity to make use of every inch of wall space.
Keeping it clean with white sink basins, but chose to do top mounted bowls to give a nod to the old-fashioned charm of nightstand wash bowls. Kept costs down by ordering the basins and fixtures at online outlets, mirrors and hardware at closeout, and pendants from big-box stores. My awesome hubby did all the tile work, although cutting on the diagonal is a lot of work. , Bathrooms

  • Tuscan Style Heavenly Kitchen!!!!!, I tell my husband almost everyday how much I love my new kitchen - which he "built" for me! I had the typical 60's or 70's kitchen which only had enough space for one cook and where you felt isolated from the rest of the home. We demolished a cinder block wall that kept me divided and lonely from the dining/living area and created this fabulous Great Room. Now, when we have gatherings, everyone always sits around the huge island in the center. Couldn't be more thrilled!!!!!, Kitchens

  • Disasterous2Glamorous-Living/Dining B&A, It's a good thing RMS doesn't have smellevision! This dated house was occupied by tenants for many years, and needed to be totally rennovated from floor to ceiling before putting it on the market. We removed the 70's railing, scraped the popcorn celings, retextured the walls before painting, added crown moulding, new wood floors, gave the fireplace a complete makeover, and really changed the whole feel of the house by opening up a wall with an archway. We couldn't be more thrilled as it sold the same day, with 15 offers and for $55k over asking price! We're still in shock!, Living Spaces

  • Master bath update, Goodbye 1982! Just finished updating our old, drab master bath. It's now small, but elegant! No structural/space changes, but everything else is all new. The toilet/shower room are separated from the vanity area by a pocket door. (pictures are a little out of order, couldn't figure out how to move them around.) The vanity is custom made, the tiles are Turkish Walnut travertine, the glass mosaic tile accents are from American Olean., Bathrooms

  • Formal Living Room to Master Walk-in Conversion, As part of our Master Suite renovation we converted our unused formal living room into a 12ft x 12ft walk in closet. Ten foot ceilings, soffits and crown molding are a bit much for a closet but it did come out great. We used an on-line closet company called Easy Closet and it worked out great. • Master Bathroom Getaway!, Our old master bath was not functional. New bathroom is over twice the size thanks to my handy husband & good friends! It has a soaking jet tub plasma tv 4 person shower w/bench & body sprays and lots of travertine! We opted for only one sink in here.We decided to save on space & didn't ever use 2. I love how it turned out and it is very nice after a long day with the kids to turn on HGTV and soak in that tub! Thanks for looking! Enjoy! My inspiration all comes from HPJ185! , Bathrooms

  • From old and dingy to spa-like retreat, Before and After photos of our Ensuite Bath. This old and dingy space was remodeled from the ground up. The picture doesn't show it, but there was a rough 2x10 over the vanity that had a fluorescent light fixture. It was a very depressing room with cheap tile in the shower over a yellowing acrylic shower pan and a cheap door.

The new spa-like bath features a floating glass vanity with an opaque vessel sink and a framed mirror above. We built a custom shower with river pebble floor and travertine walls. A strip of pebble accent runs in the length of the bath floor and up on the wall in the shower. A rain showerhead and frameless glass door completes the shower which also features a recessed panel for bottles.

The bathroom has a door to a small balcony which used to be solid but by replacing it with an opaque glass french door it lets plenty natural light in the room but keeping it private., Bathrooms

  • Modern Victorian Remodel, Poised for a change in perspective, this remodeled Victorian pied-a-terre sits like a jewel atop the hill in Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco. A true diamond in the rough, we saw the opportunity to return the architecture to its former beauty by showcasing the vaulted-ceilings. Like a faceted stone, the changing sky refracts light through the chandeliers, and showers the walls with dynamic prisms. Black and white, angled and curved, classical and modern all coexist in this little gem., Living Spaces
