• Farmhouse Kitchen Remodel, We bought a circa 1790 farm house with a few acres to keep our horses. After adding a new bathroom and renovating some rooms on the second floor, we had to tackle the small galley kitchen. The 70's kitchen lacked counter space, storage and room to move around. We knocked out the wall between the kitchen and dining room to create a large eat-in kitchen. In keeping with the historic elements of our home, we chose classic style cabinetry, soapstone counter top, and cupboard latches. Walnut furniture topped with Calcutta marble create a large island for a cook top where family and friends gather. To update the space we chose stainless steel appliances, chrome hardware and lots of recessed lighting.
Our personalities were added to the space with modern crystal pendants [bling for me!] and chrome and leather stools [Wall Street masculine for the hubby]. The random width mosaic marble tile back splash completes the look. We saved lots of money by doing most of the work ourselves. We found the hardware online at closeout prices, the appliances were found at 'scratch and dent' outlets, and we've installed the lighting, back splash, appliances, windows, cabinets, hardware, baseboard and crown molding ourselves., Kitchens

  • Laundry hallway closet, I recently completed a pretty indepth upstairs renovation. We transformed a laundry room into a guest bath and a bonus room into 2 bedrooms. My biggest obstacle was what to do with my laundry room. The result was really the only option I could think of that made sense...I moved the washer and dryer into a hallway closet. The key to the function of this design was the sliding glass doors that I found online at the Sliding Glass Door Co. and the custom shelves from local organization company. Without them I would have been stuck with tiny, cramped area full of wasted space with typical ugly bi-fold doors. , Closets & Utility

  • Tuscan Style Heavenly Kitchen!!!!!, I tell my husband almost everyday how much I love my new kitchen - which he "built" for me! I had the typical 60's or 70's kitchen which only had enough space for one cook and where you felt isolated from the rest of the home. We demolished a cinder block wall that kept me divided and lonely from the dining/living area and created this fabulous Great Room. Now, when we have gatherings, everyone always sits around the huge island in the center. Couldn't be more thrilled!!!!!, Kitchens

  • Disasterous2Glamorous-Living/Dining B&A, It's a good thing RMS doesn't have smellevision! This dated house was occupied by tenants for many years, and needed to be totally rennovated from floor to ceiling before putting it on the market. We removed the 70's railing, scraped the popcorn celings, retextured the walls before painting, added crown moulding, new wood floors, gave the fireplace a complete makeover, and really changed the whole feel of the house by opening up a wall with an archway. We couldn't be more thrilled as it sold the same day, with 15 offers and for $55k over asking price! We're still in shock!, Living Spaces

  • Transitional Kitchen Remodel, This newly updated transitional kitchen started out in desperate need of a makeover. My team and I went in and took out the wallpaper, painted the walls a rich grey, created a custom one level island, modified the existing cabinets, added granite, updated the lighting, added cabinet hardware, and completed the look with a few simple accessories.

The space is now sleek, sophisticated, and more functional. The best part is that it feels much more spacious without the busy wallpaper. The client is happier than ever, and her dream kitchen is no longer a dream, but a reality., Kitchens

  • Living Room Rescued from 1970s, This space had not been touched since the 1970's with musty drapes, drab walls, dated hardware, stained carpet, ugly tile and a hideous front door. Within a year we disposed of the drapes and installed new solid wood interior plantation shutters. We also removed the popcorn ceiling, replaced tile and carpet in favor of hardwood floors, painted the walls, installed lighting, and replaced the front door and interior doors. The space is far more livable after the transformation., Living Spaces
