This project was a complete home renovation. This living room was outdated with green carpet and small sliding doors that led to a sun porch which made the space feel very dark. We added a wall of doors to the sun porch which brought in natural light. We also added a hallway with built-ins and a powder room that leads to the kitchen. This really enhanced the traffic pattern throughout the first floor. The stair case was also completely rebuilt.

My home is located on wooded land w/ a colonial-farm house exterior look, interior was a train wreck until our remodel this past year and still going strong.

After a faux finish, replacing the stairway and adding millwork and trim this bland room really came to life. In addition, we redid the library off this room with a bit more exotic feel without going too far from the feel of the rest of the house.
Kudos to our design artist Michele Dawn who did the beautiful painting, faux finishes of the walls and furniture. Find more about her at http://micheledawndesigns.com/

Old on the outside, new on the inside: 1884 rowhouse in a city neighborhood, updated on a budget with simple materials and lots of DIY. It's a small home, but high ceilings and plenty of built-ins make it feel open and comfortable. I've kept things pretty neutral because I like to change the feeling of the space with fresh ART...

It's a good thing RMS doesn't have smellevision! This dated house was occupied by tenants for many years, and needed to be totally rennovated from floor to ceiling before putting it on the market. We removed the 70's railing, scraped the popcorn celings, retextured the walls before painting, added crown moulding, new wood floors, gave the fireplace a complete makeover, and really changed the whole feel of the house by opening up a wall with an archway. We couldn't be more thrilled as it sold the same day, with 15 offers and for $55k over asking price! We're still in shock!

This home was built in the 80's...hence the field stone fireplace. I love the colors in the stone so we've decided to design the room around it. I recently painted the wall in Toffee Crunch by Behr. I am a huge Candice Olson fan so I made the curtains inspired from one of her shows. My husband and I made the red ultrasuede bench to protect the little ones from the fireplace. We are going to build a mantle within the next month or so and put a flat screen TV above the fireplace.

Great Room that is also the dining room. It's a great example of mid century modern architecture and I tried to incorporate some classic mcm pieces and design in a modern room so it didn't seem themey.

Historic 1920's home makeover. This old space got a new look while still keeping with the intergrity of it's heritage. The fireplace, spanish texture, coved ceilings and windows are all original to the home. While the furnishings are new they still have that vintage feel.

Well, the whole house redesigned for $5,000 isn't actually true-it was actually only $4,500! Some rearranging, decluttering, and purchasing a few things really made for a dramatic difference with very little money.

We recently had a flood in our home and the drywall was damaged about 1 ft. up, so I decided to take the opportunity to create a new more contemporary fireplace. It's unique and more substantial than the previous flat wall fireplace. We chose two types of marble. It really is the focal point now in our family room.

This is the family room side of the other pics I have in the kitchen section called-"80's kitchen remodel receives the works-Before and Afters".This bachelor pad was turned into a space they both could love. This was truly a designing for the sexes project-they're tastes were very different. Please see the photos of how we transformed the gray cement fireplace at a "rock" bottom price-literally with rocks!

The great room is one of the many renovation we have taken on since we purchased our home 2 ½ yrs ago. As a matter fact this was a smaller reno compared to the rest of the house, we in stalled 3â Brazilian cherry floors, pot lights, painted the fireplace mantel, and walls. We purchase new sofas and a new area rug. Please note I have no intentions of keeping the big screen TV above the fireplace it will be going to our basement when the basement is completed and replaced it with some art work.
