About This Remodel

After a faux finish, replacing the stairway and adding millwork and trim this bland room really came to life. In addition, we redid the library off this room with a bit more exotic feel without going too far from the feel of the rest of the house.

Excellent transformation. The only thing that I can see that I would do differently is to beef up the floor boards to 7/12" high, wider trim around the doors, and a crown molding at the ceilings. Otherwise it's Perfect!

I think your remodel looks stunning. The warm wood makes the room feel so cozy. I have the same bar stools in my basement, which I recently remodeled and is here on this site to - named Old World Basement Remodel. I would like to get your opinion on my space, if you care to look. Awesome design you guys came up with and incredible work by Michelle Dawn.

Thanks JWVaughn007 for the reply. We would really appreciate the close pics you said. This could help us out with the color fininsh we want to achieve. Do you remember what companies paint did you use. I saw that Ralph Lauren has faux paints. I was looking into home depot. When you say that it is expensive, that is in the thousands? I want to weigh the expert vs the inexpert(me. Well any more advice is welcome. And thanks a lot. Your house is a dream.
