There's nothing neutral in the color palette I chose when designing our Kitchen remodel. The first reaction visitors always make a remark about is the "Caribbean Blue" subway tiles on the backsplash. We also added a wall of white cabinetry on an empty wall, to function as a Pantry & Desk nook area. The walkway into the Kitchen was widened 8", allowing a view to the Living room/front door area. Lighting in the glass front cabinets, under the cabinets and can lighting in the ceiling were installed -- well worth the expense. We installed the new Kitchen sink more to the left to lineup with the window and then topped it off with a bold striped window awning, fringed in blue glass beads. The look was inspired by my upbringing in Santa Barbara, California ---- all the colors of the Old Spanish Days Fiesta celebration, which were drawn from a hand-painted tile you might notice displayed beneath the corner glass cabinet.
