About This Remodel

This multipurpose room is seen directly from our small galley kitchen. As the kitchen has an elegant wine bar feel we tried to make this laundry/utility room feel more like an old world pantry. The dry good jars are real space savers but don't let the bagettes fool you - they’re fake! Baskets hold everything: detergent first aid aprons light bulbs extension cords etc. We leave the door open more often now which makes the kitchen feel like it has a bit more square footage.

I am going to have to copy this area for my tiny little laundry room. It gives such an elegantly comfortable feel to a small space. I love how it showcases, rather than feels utilitarian.

I've just spent about an hour touring your house (which explains all the "oooohhh" "ahhhhhhh" noises you've been hearing while you sleep. I love all your spaces, but this is the most amazing laundry/pantry I've ever seen! I love your wall quotes, but the address you have listed (twice just goes to design.com and I can't find any letters. Help! I married my true love late (I was 49, and he was 32!, and I thought the broken road song was written for us, just like "Where've You Been" by Kathy Mattea. I love it that you saved the wine bottle!

I am so jealous. My utility room is the only room in the house that scares us. We have done NOTHING to it in the 30 years we have lived here. The ceiling is half finished with a drop ceiling. Shelves above washer/dryer are hideous. Pipes everywhere. Wish I had the courage to tackle it. Love what you have done, can you come over??? LOL

Hi Sadiemae, I have been away from RMS for some time and just found a wonderful comment from you on my entry table. Thanks so much for your kind word and sorry for the delay in responding. I'm certainly glad I check back with you, because I found this FANTASTIC space of yours! I truly love it. No matter how hard I try to keep my small laundry room (also just off my kitchen looking nice, it always seems to get cluttered. I guess those Costco trips are to blame. Always dealing with those huge boxes.

This looks great.Thank you for the nice comments on my space.Our house was built mid 1800's.We are always working on it.Next project is the upstairs.It keeps us busy we do all the work ourselves.
