About This Remodel

We recently updated our master bedroom. My husband tore out the existing ceiling and put in a coffered ceiling to give the room an illusion of more size. He built bookcases and cabinetry to showcase the addition of a fireplace. With the addition of elegant lighting and draperies the room has exceeded our expectations. We decorated the room using a monochromatic theme to give it a warm and comfortable "hotel suite" feel.

I love the look of the room. The only thing that I would change and only because this is my own taste is add some color. This rooms seems to be all one color with little variety of color. Of course some people love this look of a room.

Thanks for the feedback..Still working on adding accessories such as artwork. Just picked up an oil painting in Italy that I am getting framed..the layers take time and patience to do them right..want all the pieces to be special ..let's hope we pull it off!

Lovely remodel. What do you think about adding a few layers? It may improve the space and make it a little more lively. Even if you keep the same neutral colors, you could include fresh flowers, a runner in muted tones and maybe an interesting piece (or two of art. What about working with the tall ceilings or adding a cornice to hide the curtain bar? I think the quality of materials used make this a good remodel, it can become outstanding by taking it just one more notch up. Good job!
